Kial Wiley, MD, is a family practice physician with an interest in caring for a wide variety of
patients and medical conditions. Over her time in medicine, she has developed a special interest
in caring for patients with diabetes as well as people who struggle with their weight and body
image. She enjoys working with patients to help them to attain health, in whatever form that
might take. Diabetes and body size are both complex conditions that are difficult to understand
and manage, and everyone should have a guide to help as well as an individualized plan to suit
their needs and desires. While weight often comes up in this discussion, Kial is a firm believer in
a “Healthy at Every Size” (HAES) perspective and feels that a state of health and well-being
looks different for different people.
Kial was born and raised in Western Washington and loves the area. She attended Evergreen
State College in Olympia for her undergraduate education and went on to the University of
Washington to attain her medical degree. She completed residency training at East Pierce Family
Medicine in Puyallup. She enjoys reading (crime novels mostly), crocheting, baking, trying new
foods, and spending time with her family and their cocker spaniel Skye.
